Your Private City Tour starts at the enchanting and picturesque Jardin Secret, one of the most popular attractions in Marrakech, and it is for good reasons. Let yourself take a break from the frantic pace of the Red City and enjoy the delicate fragrance filling the air in this refreshing oasis.

On your way to the Medina, you’ll pass by the ‘new city’, the modern side of Marrakech. The area was designed & built by the French in the early 1900s, and is today the thriving heart of the Red city, where you can spot popular international brands and fine cafés. You’ll also pass by its main avenue, that we love to call “the Champs Elysées of Marrakech”.

You’ll then start your visit of the old town at the Koutoubia Mosque, a key piece in Morocco’s history, built during the 12th century under the Almohad Dynasty. Its minaret remains the tallest building in Marrakech so it can be visible from almost everywhere in the city, like a guiding star, helping you to get directions when you’re lost.

Then, you’ll walk through a very interesting part of the Medina, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), which will help you understand the important role of the Jewish culture and community in developing the unique identity of Marrakech & Morocco.

If you wish, you’ll go inside one of the city’s well-reputed herbal stores, where you can learn everything you want to know about herbs, spices and essential oils while having a Moroccan mint tea and some local pastry. Then, you’ll continue your way towards Bab Agnaou, one of the nineteen gates of Marrakech and the main entrance to the Royal Kasbah.

There, we’ll invite you to a unique cultural trip back in time to discover two points of interest: 1/ the Farnatchi, where you can uncover the process of heating the water in traditional public steam baths, called hammams, which dates back to Roman times; the Farnatchi is also where some locals still bring their dishes (especially the typical Tanjia) to be slowly cooked in a wood-fired oven; 2/ an age-old bakery where artisanal bread is still cooked the old fashioned way;

Afterwards, it’ll be time to wander through the fascinating labyrinths of the world’s most vibrant and colorful open-air marketplace: The Souks of Marrakech. Between bazaars full of charm & character, stalls packed with mysterious potions, colorful piles of spices, essential oils, exquisite hand-knotted rugs… you’ll get to visit the leather souk, workshops of traditional woven Moroccan carpets & handmade Berber boucherouite (rugs), brass lamps & lanterns gallery, and so much more!
