Tour details | What to expect

Your Shopping Tour begins in front of Café de France in Jemaa el-Fna square, where you’ll meet & greet your tour guide, before heading to the Souks where you’ll visit an ancient workshop of the famous heelless leather slippers, called “balghas”, which are part of the local traditional dress.
Then, the leather souk, where you’ll find handmade wallets, belts, bags, shoes..
Then comes a cultural trip back in time to discover : the Farnatchi, where you can uncover the process of heating the water in traditional public steam baths, called hammams, which dates back to Roman times; the Farnatchi is also where some locals still bring their dishes to be slowly cooked in a wood-fired oven; + an age-old bakery where artisanal bread is still cooked the old fashioned way; Afterwards, you’ll get inside one of the city’s well-reputed herbal stores, where you can learn everything you want to know about herbs, spices and essential oils while having a Moroccan mint tea and some local pastry.

Then, you’ll head to a workshop of traditional woven Moroccan carpets and handmade Berber boucherouite (rugs), full of charm and proudly displayed. You’ll fall in love with their authentic vintage texture and the stories behind their making. Plus, you’ll also have another awesome colorful background for your photos!
Even if you have no intention purchasing a lamp, our Private Shopping Tour wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t include a final stop at a brass lamps & lanterns gallery. It’s worth visiting this glittering place, sells everything from small candleholders to to intricate multistory chandeliers appropriate for the entry hall of a sultan’s palace.

Marrakech ranks among the great shopping cities of the world, with local knowledge by your side, you’re in good hands to have a splendid time in the establishments that are worth your time, without worrying to guess where to shop and where not to shop.

Wonderful tour of souks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We really enjoyed our shopping tour of the Souks with our lovely guide Nourdine. He arrived at our hotel spot on time, was very welcoming and friendly. He then talked a lot about the history/culture of Marrakesh and was extremely knowledgable. We never felt rushed on the tour, Nourdine took the time to show us some great places to buy the things we were interested in. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be sure to book another tour with Nourdine when we come back to Marrakesh. Thank you!

Great tour and great guide ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Yahya was really nice and successful at his job. He made a tour for us including everything worths to see. He also bought us local foods and drinks as a gift. We get great prices in local shops and we didn’t feel under pressure to buy something. Private tour with Yahya should be an obligatory thing for tourists in Marrakech. We had a wonderful day.

Great way to see the souks without the hassle ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We went for the pick up and drop off service. He and his driver picked us up on time. We stopped by a couple of landmarks on the way. Yaya took us to a few “higher end” proper shops after a bit of olive tasting and a coffee. The items were high quality and prices reasonable, we found a rug we’re definitely going to buy for our house in Spain.
We felt we’d seen enough of the established shops and Yaya took us into the more market-y area of the souk. This gave us the chance to get to grips with the prices.
Then he took us to a HUGE fixed price supermarket for basically everything that can be found in the souks. The prices were reasonable and we bought a lot of souvenirs and smaller items here.
All in all a great experience.

Best tour in Marrakech! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Couldn’t have asked for a better, more enthusiastic guide than the awesome Yahya! He showed us so many hidden treasures of the Medina we never would have uncovered ourselves! Would highly recommend!

Fabulous souk tour ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

YaYa did a fabulous job of showing us around thru the souk. He showed us special stores which interested us and never encouraged us to buy anything. He was fun and very respectful. He also showed us unusual architectural alleys from the 11th and 16th centuries that we would never have known about without a guide. Having seen the souk WITH a guide, I’m very sure now that I would never explore it on my own. I would get very very lost…and I don’t get lost easily. With a guide at your side, street vendors don’t pressure you with their products. That’a a big plus!! It’a a great place to see. You MUST go. Great for photos!!

Fantastic tour ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would highly recommend. Our tour guide Nourdine was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Marrakech is so beautiful! Saw parts of town that we wouldn’t have seen without our guide. Got to stop off and taste olives, traditional mint tea and pastries, a visit to the secret garden and a Moroccan pharmacy. Strongly recommend.

Brilliant, informative and magical tour ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really informative tour. Our tour guide showed us many hidden streets and small gems around the Medina. He also answered all of our questions and made us feel much more confident to go out ourselves at a later point in our holiday. Would 100% recommend for a stress-free introduction to the Souks.

Very highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ahmed took us on a wonderful tour of the souks, visiting craftsmen that I would never otherwise have found and sights I would not otherwise have seen. He was patient and a helpful negotiator where required and I had the most enjoyable morning in the souks of the Medina. His English was excellent and he was very professional and knowledgeable. VERY highly recommended indeed. 6 stars if available!

Amazing! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My sister surprised me with a trip to Marrakesh for Xmas. We wanted to experience the souks but not on our own so we decided to book this tour. From the moment we met Aziz, we felt we were in safe hands. We informed him what we were after at the market and boy did he deliver. He not only gave us informative information about Marrakesh and the local sites, he allowed us to taste some local cakes and fruits as well as purchasing the items we wanted and seeing other parts of the market. Aziz also found out we had not been to the market at night when the food stalls were out. Our tour was in the afternoon and would have ended when it started to get dark, but he went the extra mile to give us a little tour of the food market and explain the local cuisine which we felt was very kind of him. I must say the hustle and bustle of the food market at night was truly magical. Thank you Aziz! This was a tour we both will never forget.
